R8 e-tron because VAG

What do they go for, brand new?
You can get a 2011 Laviolette for 270K$, but I have no idea if they depreciate since I don’t know how much they sold for...

Classic cruiser: SM (or 504 coupe)
Long distance daily driver: C6
Canyon carving: undecided as of yet. I’m inclined to name either the 205 GTI or 205 CTI (pictured below) I already own, but that would be too easy. Maybe something RWD? It will have to be small and not too new.

Just noticed you said ‘new’. That complicates things. New cars tend to be relatively uninteresting.
Canyon carver/weekend car: Alfa Romeo 4C:
Daily driver: Jaguar XFR-S Sportbrake
Classic: This is a tough one, if it has to be new. Morgan 3 Wheeler?

according to the C+D review they start at 219k. I figure that’s closer to 250k when picking an option or two. depreciation seems to be small for a boutique car. I think the cheapest I’ve seen is $160k for a 7-8 year old one... impressive I think.

yeah, opening it to all years just makes too many choices. this was just a quick little thought.

The Japanese:
The Swede:
The American:
Got a nice balance, with a coupe, a sedan, and a wagon. No real exotics here, although the GT350 is low-production. Never been a fan of cars that cost as much as a house.

1972 Saab 96 (mine will not be tan)
